Robin is a robot that picks up towels fully automatically and feeds them into a terry cloth folding machine. The patented basis of robin is a combination of vision and robotics. Intelligent camera systems recognize the corners of the towel and the robotics picks up these corners and lays down the towel. Robin achieves production speeds of up to 720 pieces/hour. The speed depends on the type and articles to be processed. Robin works 24/7. Robin was conceived in 2017 and taken into production in 2019.
Robin is a freestanding machine that can be loaded with an overhead conveyor or conveyor belt.
The picker at the front of the machine picks up the towel and feeds it into the machine. 
There, the towel is stopped and scanned by a camera and associated special software that detects where the corner of the towel is. The corner detection software is based on artificial intelligence and deep learning. Patented robotic arms with grippers move the towel in the machine in such a way that the intelligent vision system can also detect the second corner. After picking up the second corner, the towel is spread out and laid down on a webbing bed.
This webbing bed is equipped with a stretch bed to guarantee a perfect quality of the front of the towel.
The towel is then transported to the terry cloth folding machine, which is placed behind robin, by means of this webbing bed.
As an option, Robin can be equipped with the option to recognize logos. The logo on your towel is then detected and the towel can be turned over so that the logo is facing down during feeding on the folding machine.
